NIL Report: Great Weather, Even Better Fishing – August 2, 2019

Mother Nature has continued to bless us this week with lots of great weather and even better fishing. Langara Rocks was consistent all week for coho and smaller chinook, while Boulder bay showed more life as well as good bursts of bites at Coho and Andrews Point.

Our three-day weekend trip was the definition of short but sweet. All guests had tons of action and fish to haul home with lots of coho 9-12lbs and chinook 16-22lbs. Our notable fish caught this trip were by Jim Landes (26lb spring) and Terry Huseman (25lb spring). A special shout out to Alan Partridge of our kitchen team for angling a 29lb chinook which he released on a personal fishing outing over the weekend.

An excited bunch of returning guests rounded out the week here at North Island in a heavily self-guided affair. Topping our angling charts was Gerald Pohl who reeled in a 42lb halibut and caught a 31lb chinook in Bruin Bay. Other top halibut catches included Lorne Rutt with a 55lber, and chinook catches with guests Scott Gage (27.5lb) and Andy Ross (25lb). Tom Gray tied our top coho catch category from previous weeks with a 16lber.
