Another action packed week had our anglers linking up in many different fishing spots including Langara Rocks, Andrews Point and Boulder Bay. With a healthy run of coho and some notable big catches from returning guests we are excited to continue our great season this week.
A beautiful sunset, Tuesday, July 11th.A short but sweet weekend trip brought some of the best weather and action we’ve seen so far. Andrews Point and the Lighthouse were hot spots where anglers couldn’t keep the coho off their rods. Top spring catches were by Daniel Jackson (29lb) and Lionel Wardrop (26lb) while our top coho (13lb) and first sockeye (7lb) catch of the season were angled by Gregory Lord.
A rare 7lb sockeye caught by Gregory Lord. (Pictured is guide Macgregor Johnston.)With more time and patience we saw a good amount of high teens to mid twenty pound chinook caught on our four day trip this week. Gary Sawor stole the show with a 37lb release on Tuesday followed by a 29lb to take home on Wednesday. Other top chinook were caught by Kent Somerville (27lb) and Brent Giles (26lb) and in the coho field both Don Pedersen and Lenard Thomas retained 13lbers.
