The Clubhouse Report: September 13 - The Last Tyee!

Here it is ,30 lbs, the last tyee, landed by Jack Burbidge, on the right, with brother Jim with the holding assist. What a way to end the trip, our last chinook of the season, released to go find her river and spawn, a very satisfying way to end the trip and the season of guiding here at the Clubhouse.

We grabbed this beauty out at Coho Point scraping the bottom, 189 feet on the cable. Jim was busy with a double of orange tail rockfish on the port side, when Jack set the hook into this prize. This was the only tyee of the trip, although Pat Simmons is loading his skiff for bear, three guests, freshly spooled penn coffee grinders, two coolers of bait, and a fresh deck of smokes, and a lonely trip for boat 5 out to the point. Just the way Pat Likes it, last boat out, drifting with the tide, telling a very long tale, maybe a 3 smoker, working high, high off the pin, back and forth. Might even give the backside of Andrew a rub, or sneak over and work Doug for one last tide. Me thinks he will be in late on changeover morning. Weather continues awesome, all our skiffs were limited today on springs, and dogs. Some coho as well, but the silver brights are tearing it up like crazy. Many nice 12 to 16 lbers, these chum are on the bite. Nice halibut as well to 33 lbs again, Jack grabbed a last twenty of the point trolling deep, to finish the trip off.
