Yesterdays changeover was a bit on the foggy side, I thought for sure we would be having to drive north to Langara to complete our changeover. Luckily enough the fog cleared and we made the exchange.
Fish, flat water and sun creates days that are unforgettable! All three were present today and created the best day so far this summer; you could have sworn we were on a mill pond.
It was a bit foggy this morning when departing the lodge but as soon as that cleared we were in for some heat!!
The Vaughan Trio slayed fish today. Here is Sam, John, and Jack holding some great fish….. I don’t think John knows he is giving Sam a slimy love tap with the tail of his fish!!!
They all managed to find their limit with Ol’ Yeller today and their small halibut.
Nadine was fishing with Sammy and they tracked down this 31lb Tyee. Theres a good one!
They also got into this fish, it is a Skate.
Blair got this 29lb hali while trolling for chinook, they thought they were into a monster chinook… still a nice surprise!
Sean got this 12lb Coho. 1lb off the largest of the year!! Nice to see some larger ones still around!!
They had this little guy following them around for part of the day….
It is a Tufted Puffin. I think they are my favourite bird on the west coast, they are so curious and will often come close to the boat begging for a piece of bait!
I unfortunately gave up the Jacket to Sammy today. It was a great battle for top spot, duked out between our guest Sam, the youngest guest to ever get into the top 4, Ol’ Yeller, Dewie, and Sammy. Sammy now has 4 wins, Jordo has 4 and I have 3.
Nice win Sammy!! It will be a battle for who will have the bragging writes for the winter!! Its game time… no mercy!!!
