Introducing the Back Deck Bourbon Barbeque…
Two things that go extremely well together are world-class barbeque fare and world-class bourbon. And what better place to savour the best of both than the back deck of The Clubhouse.
Following up on the popular success of The Ultimate Grill Showdown at North Island Lodge, the big smoke moves up to The Clubhouse the following week. That’s where renowned pitmaster, Tuffy Stone, will headline as guest chef, accompanied by brand ambassador Gerry Jobe from legendary Tennessee bourbon distillery, Jack Daniel’s.
One of the most eclectic and respected figures on the competitive barbecue circuit, Tuffy Stone is a classically-trained French chef, television personality and accomplished pitmaster, and since 2009 has been a judge and host on the Destination America reality television show BBQ Pitmasters. He is also the founder of the “Cool Smoke” professional barbecue team and a co-owner of Q Barbeque and Rancho T restaurants of Richmond, Virginia. He and his team have earned Grand Champion titles in nearly every major barbecue competition, including the American Royal World Series of Barbecue (2013 and 2014), Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue (2013 and 2015), and the Kingsford Invitational (2015).
Described as “a force of nature in the hospitality industry,” mixology guru Gerry Jobe will bring expertise on all things bourbon, along with a full portfolio tasting of the Jack Daniel’s family of fine whiskies, including Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel, Gentleman Jack, Master Distiller #3, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey, and of course the featured bourbon, Woodford Reserve.
A privileged group of guests will have the opportunity to interact with two of the top names in the barbecue and bourbon world. Join Tuffy as he puts our Yoder Smoker to work to create a new culinary-themed event that is sure to become another taste-tempting tradition for The West Coast Fishing Club. Executive Chef Shaun Snelling and Tuffy have promised a varied menu throughout the trip, which will feature appetizers, mains, side dishes and desserts to enthrall even the most discriminating tastes. Relax in an intimate setting over a nightly offering of fine Jack Daniel’s products, the pride of Lynchburg, Tennessee since 1866.
There couldn’t be a more unique setting for this deep-south extravaganza than the northern-most reaches of Haida Gwaii. The Clubhouse deck overlooks Parry Pass, whose tide-swept waters separate the rugged shorelines of Graham and Langara Island.
