Prior to arrival at one of The West Coast Fishing Club lodges, we require you to fill out our Client Information Form to ensure we deliver an exceptional stay.

FISHING LICENCES

To streamline your check-in experience, please complete your saltwater fishing licences online before your trip. We suggest the 5-day or Annual option depending on your requirements. Please be sure to add the Salmon Conservation Stamp to your licences to be able to retain Salmon. If you already have a licence, please ensure that you bring it with you. Licenses for the upcoming season can be purchased beginning on April 1st. on For more information about licensing fees, click here.

Hotel Information

WHERE TO STAY IN VANCOUVER

We recommend that you arrive in Vancouver the day before your trip and suggest you stay at one of the WCFC preferred partner hotels. Please be sure to mention that you will be fishing with The West Coast Fishing Club to receive our special rate.

The Fairmont, Sheraton, Marriott, and Versante Hotels are located near the airport and offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the South and Main Terminals.

The Rosewood Hotel Georgia is located in Downtown Vancouver and offers a complimentary shuttle to groups of 10 guests or more to and from the South Terminal.

All five hotels have frozen fish storage available.

WHILE IN VANCOUVER

Beautiful British Columbia has so much to offer – from the spectacular scenery of Haida Gwaii to the buzzing city of Vancouver. Extend your vacation with a trip to Vancouver before or after your experience with The WCFC. How to Pack

WHAT TO PACK

The weather in Haida Gwaii can be unpredictable. On average, the daily high temperature is around 16°C (62°F)  – max. 26°C (80°F) – with lows of 11°C (52°F). Be prepared with:

  • Warm clothes for fishing
  • Wool or polar fleece socks
  • Light long underwear
  • Gloves
  • Windbreaker
  • Walking shoes
  • Shorts/swimsuit
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses
  • Prescription medications
  • Seasickness remedies
  • Camera

Simms fishing suits and rubber boots are provided for your time on the water.

LUGGAGE

Luggage is strictly limited to 25lbs per person, including any fishing gear you bring. We have complimentary, secured lock-up storage available in Vancouver for your excess baggage and would be happy to store it for you. Please pack your gear in soft-sided luggage for ease of aircraft loading.

Please note that, on the return flight to Vancouver, you are limited to 70lbs per person, which includes your 25lbs of baggage AND fish should you choose not to have your fish processed.

CARRY-ON LUGGAGE

Due to limited space on helicopters, your luggage may not arrive on the same helicopter as you do, therefore we strongly suggest you travel with a small carry-on bag. Make sure it contains anything you will need immediately upon arrival, please also include all medications within your carry-on baggage.
