TRIP INFORMATION

Check-In & Departure

DEPARTURE

Guests will fly via helicopters out of the lodge and then board our charter flight for the return to Vancouver. Our arrival time in Vancouver at the South Terminal YVR is set for 3:00pm.

We recommend that any connecting flights not be scheduled for at least three (3) hours for Domestic flights and four (4) hours for International flights after our scheduled arrival time.

CHECK-IN AT THE YVR SOUTH TERMINAL

Guests should arrive at the South Terminal YVR for check-in at 7:30am. Our check-in counter is marked with WCFC signs. Guests will be greeted by our Client Services Representatives who will take your checked bags and provide boarding passes for your journey.

Guests can expect to depart Vancouver by 8:30am. Flying time is just 1 hour and 20 minutes, our arrival time to meet the helicopters is scheduled for 10:00am. From there, guests will be greeted by our Client Services representative who will facilitate guests’ transfer to the helicopters. Flying time to the lodge is approximately 20 minutes.

What to Expect

ARRIVAL DAY

We recommend you arrive in Vancouver the night before your trip with us. Speak with your hotel concierge to ensure transportation will bring you to the YVR South Terminal Airport for our check-in on the morning of your departure. We are happy to assist you with these arrangements should you require, please contact your Client Services representative.

DAY ONE

After your morning departure from Vancouver, you will arrive in Masset, where you'll receive a brief helicopter orientation before departing for the lodge. Upon arrival at the lodge, you will enjoy a gourmet brunch, change into your fishing gear, and then be directed to your awaiting boat. After a short commute to the fishing grounds, you will drop your lines and begin your fishing adventure!

TYPICAL DAY

Begin your day with a gourmet breakfast starting at 5:30am. You will head down to the dock to meet your guide for 7:00am and fish until 12:00pm. Between 12:00pm and 2:00pm lunch is served in the dining room and for those who wish to stay on the water, lunch, snacks, and other treats will be provided. All guests are in from fishing at 6:30pm to 7:00pm (packages include 10 hours of fishing per day) to enjoy pre-dinner cocktails and hors d’oeuvres until 8:00pm when dinner service will commence.

DEPARTURE DAY

On the last day, our guests are able to fish from 6:30am until 8:30am (depending on daylight conditions) when brunch will be served in the dining room. After brunch, our helicopters will begin to depart.

Additional Information

Pleasure Craft Operators Card

Self-guided guests only.

As of September 9, 2009, all self-guided guests are required by law to have their Pleasure Craft Operators Card on them while on the water. If you do not have this card please go to www.betterboating.ca to take the exam. The exam can be studied for and written online. If you are not able to do this prior to arriving at the lodge, you will need to fill out the form upon your arrival.

Vacuum Packing & Flash Freezing

We will be filleting, vacuum packing and flash freezing all fish as per government regulations. You can also choose to send your fish to our recommended commercial processor for smoking, canning, portioning and other processing.

Please be sure to review your countries fish import requirements prior to visiting the lodge.

Salmon LIMITS

  • 8 Salmon total possession limit per trip; no more than 4 of which can be Chinook.
  • 2 Chinook per person per day, to a possession limit of 4.
  • 4 Coho/Sockeye/Chum/Pink per person per day, to a possession limit of 8.

HALIBUT LIMITS

  • The possession limit is either of: one (1) Halibut measuring from 85 cm to 126 cm head-on length, OR two (2) Halibut measuring under 85 cm head-on length.
