  • Client Relations Representative

    Client Relations Representative – Richmond, B.C.

    The West Coast Fishing Club operates three of B.C.'s finest saltwater fishing resorts located in Haida Gwaii, B.C.. Our team is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while delivering a world-class experience to our guests.

    This role is a great seasonal position for a student or anyone looking to make a competitive wage. As a Client Relations Representative, you are responsible for assisting guests during their arrival and departure at the YVR Airport (South Terminal).

    Responsibilities include:

    - Morning and afternoon preparation for The WCFC to receive clients departing on, or returning from trips
    - Direct interaction with clients, ensuring that they have everything they need for their trip
    - Being self-sufficient and excellent time management skills
    - Facilitating and enhancing the fishing experience for clients while departing and returning from trips, making special arrangements and accommodating
    special requests for guests as needed
    - General office support as required
    - Preparation of freight and orders required for each trip by the lodge managers and staff

  • Saltwater Fishing Guides

    Preference will be given to applicants with salt water fishing guide experience, luxury resort experience, Med A3 and restricted radio operators certification and a passion for sport fishing. We are also accepting resumes for part time, relief, fill-in guide positions throughout the summer.

  • Dock Manager

    Responsible for all guided and self – guided dock/fish processing operations including tackle inventory, maintenance of docks and ramps, cleaning and fueling of self-guided boats, adhering to and enforcing The West Coast Fishing Club policies regarding safety, dress code and standards. The dock manager oversees and supervises up to 8 dockhands and reports directly to the general manager and manager fishing operations.

  • Meat / Saucier Chef

    Reporting to the Executive Chef the Meat/Saucier Chef will be responsible for all protein items on the menu as well as maintaining the organization and sanitary conditions of the kitchen. The successful candidate will be well educated in deboning/cleaning - fish/meat products and the preparation of associated sauces.

  • Dockhand

    Responsible for the efficient running of all dock and transportation operations, set – up, fish processing, boat maintenance, tackle, receiving of product, inventory, guest satisfaction - reporting to the dock manager. Daily duties may also include waste removal, freight unloading and guest luggage handling.

  • Pastry Chef

    Responsible for the development and production of pastry related recipes and ingredient purchase specifications. Maintains professional food quality and sanitation standards. Red seal certification required. Assists with other duties as assigned by the Chef.

  • Line Cook

    Responsible for assisting in the development of food production, safe food, hygiene and sanitation, receiving and storage of product, station set up, other duties as assigned by the Chef. Food safe level 1 required.

  • Crew Accommodations Housekeeper

    Hands on position adhering to The West Coast Fishing Club policies and standards ensuring the hygiene and sanitary conditions of the staff accommodations are maintained on a daily basis. Maintains a professional working relationship with service staff and supervisors. Reporting to the General Manager, is responsible for maintaining consistent communications ensuring all staff adhere to The WCFC accommodation policies and procedures.

  • Executive Chef

    In addition to a chef’s certificate and a proven record with recognized food programs and/or kitchen management this highly creative professional is responsible for menu creation, purchasing, hiring, cost controls, training, scheduling, inventory and exceeding guest expectations. The executive chef supervises a minimum of 8 kitchen employees and should be capable of delivering four star cuisine for up to 60 guests per day.

  • Maintenance

    The West Coast Fishing Club, is a premier sport salmon fishing lodge located on Langara Island, Haida Gwaii. We are currently looking for a maintenance person for the 2019 season from May to October.

    We are a remote and self-sustaining lodge producing and maintaining our own water and hydro. The maintenance person will work with all departments (kitchen, dining room, housekeeping and marine/dock) and their managers to ensure the lodge and all equipment is well maintained.

    This position requires an individual with basic carpentry, electrical and plumbing skills. It also involves heavy lifting, work on ladders, loading and unloading freight and managing waste and recycling. The maintenance person must possess a valid class 5 driver's license and be able operate and 2.5 ton pickup truck.

    This is a seasonal position (six months on Langara Island) and includes room and board.
