Our busiest time of year is upon us as we count the days to the season ahead. This winter and spring North Island saw several refits. First of which, a hull inspection of the lodge was completed at the shipyard. Not your average boat cradle here. Some minor repairs and a good scrape and paint she was back just in time to load for our 650 guests throughout the season...
.... New furniture arrives as we look at putting the finishing touches on a complete bar renovation that will be a great place to tell fish stories.
Leaving the Fraser River she’s off for her trip up the coast
Departing Vancouver last week for her 6-day journey up the coast. The crew has been working hard to get things tied down as divers inspect moorings at our summer home.
The boats are trickling in from Masset including a new zodiac that will to help service our guests on the water.
Fresh line and serviced reels, the Ugly Sticks are ready for action..
Positive reports enticed Screamer and I to suit up for an evening test fishery. It didn’t take long to get our first bite and managed to land a couple nice fish in short order. Chinook fishing up and down the coast has been fantastic so I expect big things out of the gate. Remaining, staff will arrive over the next couple of days. Always an exciting time watching them gel and work though the details needed to open our doors.More to come as we complete our set up and hopefully have a bit more time to hit the water. Looking forward to welcoming guests on June 1st for the first annual Ultimate Grill Showdown. Sure to be some deadly smoked treats to come off of this bad boy…
