North Island Lodge Fishing Reports
North Island Lodge "67lb RELEASE"

So at the West Coast Fishing Club part of our culture and our mission statement has always been to put back more than we take out. We do this through the Salmon foundations we support, hatchery programs and most of all through educating our guests. If we can encourage the release of larger Chinook salmon we can maintain a large fish gene pool in our waters and we are doing our part to help preserve our sport. NO we dont “bang on a gong” to celebrate the fact that another TYEE was killed …. this is not part of the process here at the West Coast Fishing Club and any educated sports man will attest to the importance of conservation in creating a sustainable sport.
With that said we are very proud to report our Jr. North Island guide Jacob Brunette is right on board with this concept as he had recent released a LARGE Chinook this last trip. Measuring in at a wopping 67lbs this thing i a MONSTER. Thanks to Clubhouse guides Screamer and Jordie for the photos and assisting with the release of this beauty of a fish.
Kent – I found that at NIL they educate and encourage anglers to consider the long term benifits of releasing those large fish, but there is no pressure. If you are spending $5000, you are going for the experience, not the meat. The meat is far cheaper at the dock or Costco. I would highly recommend NIL. The service is unbelievable!
Pat – Cliff and I are coming back July 26. See you then!
I on the other hand am a regular guest at West Coast Fishing Club properties and will continue to be for the off-the-charts service, incredible fishing and its longstanding advocacy of conservation minded angling. Given the current crises confronting global fisheries, we need more operators like WCFC to educate people and ensure our grandchildren have the same privileges as we do. From what I’ve seen over the years, the vast majority of returning WCFC guests feel the same way. Keep up the great work Team WCFC. See you at the Clubhouse in August.
i have been a fly fisherman my whole life and have practiced catch and release. my feeling is that i wouldnt visit your lodge because there is to much obligation for catch and release! when i spend 5000$ i want to make those decisions myself without feeling obligated.
