About

Conservation

From our first year of operations in 1988, The West Coast Fishing Club has upheld a deep commitment to well defined corporate responsibility objectives that focus upon fisheries conservation, sustainable industry practices, and social, economic and community development initiatives. Thanks to the support of our guests, The WCFC has raised over $600,000 to help with local Salmon enhancement projects.

Catch & Release

Our Goals

Our goal is to provide a first-class fishing experience for our members while recognizing our responsibility to maintain our valuable fishing resource for future generations.

At the end of each trip, we award Tyee pins to our guests who have released a Chinook Salmon over 30 lbs. These pins are available in the 30+, 40+, 50+, 60+ and 70+ categories.

The more fish we release, the more chances there are for these fish to return to their spawning rivers. Of particular concern to us is limiting the number of trophy sized Tyees that are retained by anglers and forever removed from their gene pools.

Incentives

The West Coast Fishing Club continues to encourage the release of trophy Chinook Salmon with a selection of gifts for conservation-minded anglers.

To recognize guests who release trophy-sized Chinook Salmon that measure out to 40 pounds or greater, we have a selection of rewards to choose from including an Arc’teryx Jacket or an MR-3 Islander Reel.

Requirements

To qualify, a guest may retain other Chinook Salmon, but have at least one open Chinook spot available on their license for the duration of the trip. Both guided and self-guided guests are eligible. A WCFC guide must verify all qualifying fish before release. If the fish caught will not survive, it cannot be released and will not qualify for the reward.

Total Catch & Release Program

Guests visiting any of The West Coast Fishing Club properties may choose to release all the fish they catch for the duration of their trip. In return, they will be rewarded with an Arc'teryx Jacket.

Guests who declare to “Catch and Release” must notify the lodge manager prior to setting out on the water. Ideally, try to make your intentions known when booking your trip as participants are limited. Please direct any questions to the lodge manager or your sales associate.
