Guests Catch Celebrated Chefs in Action
World class fishing is fabulous. And world class fishing accompanied by the hottest chefs in Vancouver is even better. From June 25 to September 10, 2009, the renowned West Coast Fishing Club is introducing a series of culinary adventures with some of the top names in the field.
Privileged guests at the West Coast Fishing Club’s Clubhouse will truly experience the club’s dedication to ‘more than world class fishing’. Culinary getaways this year are hosted by Vancouver Magazine’s Chef of the Year, Robert Belcham of Fuel and Campagnolo restaurants; Dale Mackay of Lumiere; Don Letendre of Elixir at the Opus Hotel and Seigo Nakamura of Miku Aburi Restaurant. The grand finale sees the return of David Hawksworth & Friends, formerly of West, and now of Hawksworth at the Hotel Georgia—with his third annual cooking school at the club – this year’s special guests are Vikram Vij of Vij’s and Rangoli and Dino Reinarts of Diva at The Metropolitan. Chefs will not only collaborate on a special dinner for the last night of the trip; they’ll also offer an afternoon interactive cooking demo for guests.
It all comes down to the club’s commitment to their guests. Brian Grange explains, “In light of the current economic climate, we wanted to deliver added value to our guests at the lodge this year. We’ve always been committed to providing excellence in food and wine as part of the experience, but this year we’re taking that up a notch by having these incredibly talented chefs as our guest chefs. It’s an exceptional opportunity for our guests to experience outstanding cuisine.”
Three or four-day fishing trips to the Clubhouse are available from June 14th to September 10th and are priced from $4,425.
