The Outpost~~ Work Hard.... Sleep Hard...

June 17, 2013

Well, if yesterday was a hard day out on the water (one casualty at lunch), today must have been extremely gruelling….

I count 5 bodies out COLD; Johnny, Dwayne, Brad, Hagan, and Dickie all opted for a living room siesta. Brad I think your floor naps are catching on!!!

This is the wreck down on Hippa island. It is called the Clarksdale Victory, she struck ground in 1947 and met her demise. Every year her hull gets noticeably smaller and smaller.

This photo was taken in 1994, nothing will be left in another 9 years!Fishing around Hippa was productive today!!! Boats were doubling up and limits were filled!

Here is Brent with a nice mid twenty pounder!

Hagan holds up a nice chiniook for a quick photo and back into the water for this one, as he is participating in the full Catch and Release program! Nice work.Michelle, Libby and Pappa D decided to stray from the Hippa convoy and decided to try a little secret spot….

It paid off for Michelle, she landed and released this AWESOME Tyee! It measured 40"X27" which on the chart weighs in at 36lbs!!! Great release Michelle. There is a derby this weekend and all the money has been held by Michelle since day one. She said when she received the money, “I might as well keep this money as I will catch the biggest fish!”. Well, she is true to her word thus far but there are still a couple hours on Monday morning for someone to sneak in a “bay lunker” and steal the booty!!!

The whales down at Hippa were putting on quite a show! Here they display the way they sometimes fish, it is called "Bubble Net Feeding". A very amazing process to watch!Michelle and Libby were fished out by the afternoon and decided to go for a walk to Glass Ball Beach, no better person to take them on a beach walk than the Surfer Beach Boy, Ol’ Yeller… aka Chris. No photos but Michelle was lucky enough to stumble on upon a small glass ball. There were historically used as fishing floats in Japan and other Pacific Asian countries. They sometimes broke loose from their nets and make the journey across the pacific!Dinner.....

How about Beef Wellington served with baby potatoes and wild morels..... Yes please!!!Tight Lines and Good NightMarky Mark
