The Outpost Report: June 20, 2010

OUTPOST UPDATE: Sandwiches! Our chefs are making everything from scratch this year using local products made naturally. As an example lets look at the sandwiches you’ll be taking out on the boats this summer.

It starts with the dough, made fresh from simple ingredients and rolled out…

Next Tobey lightly coats the inside with some home made pesto…

Then comes the smoked Ham made from Fraser valley pork by Two Rivers …

A little goat cheese from Happy Days farm in Salmon Arm BC…

A few fried onions for added flavour…

Starting to look good! Next, lets roll it up…

Just like a piggy in a blanket…

Make sure it’s got a good seal so all the goodness stays inside…

After some time for the dough to rise, it’s coated with sesame and egg and then its into the oven. 30 minutes later, out she comes…

Looking so good…

Then it’s cooled, cut…

And ready for you fresh every day.
Hmmm is it lunch time yet?
