The Outpost Report: July 24, 2010

July 24, 2010

OUTPOST UPDATE: A mixed bag today, those who went out all day and braved an adventure south of the lodge found some good fishing. So let’s start there…

Mike, Paul, Colin and Bill had some of the best fishing of their lives! Well done gents, it doesn’t happen all the time but when you fish long enough it does happen. We had a couple of firsts today start with our recent grad Natasha…

She caught her first Chinook and Coho in the same day, her dad commented that she played them like she’d been fishing for years. Brothers David and Larry also had a fun day on the water and it’s all new for Larry who shows off his first lingcod…

While Ian brought home a 60 lb halibut that will end up being processed into over 30 1 lb chunks…well done to all…

Lastly tonight Clay released a 120 lb halibut and won his well deserved 100+ pound release pin. With the swell subsiding and winds swinging to NW tomorrow conditions should continue to improve for our eager anglers.

I’m out on the water tomorrow morning so will try and bring you some “action shots”.

See you then,
Ken Beatty
