OUTPOST UPDATE: Changeover at the OP as we said goodbye to our friends from Burnco…

I’ve got a lot of fun stuff for you tonight starting with something I’ve called a “Sea Cowboy” to qualify for this title you need to successfully lasso a Salmon Shark with a herring. Fight it for over and hour and release it unharmed (sounds like something from Monty Python)…

Doug was the first to earn the title yesterday, note the perfect lasso around the tail of this 5-6 footer…”only a flesh wound” (Monty Python reference for those you didn’t catch it). Next up is a series of fun snap shots from around the lodge starting with the late afternoon sun in the trees, it felt like summer…

Tobey was cooking up something tasty on the bbq…

Brent “Boat 4” Maracle was busy cleaning and greasing his reels in the guide shack…

JP was demonstrating some “Haida ingenuity” to Brent “Pork Chop” Davison
on how to remove barnacles from the humpy sled…

Pork Chop looked a little uncertain, but it was worth checking out the results after a few attempts…

Meanwhile back at the lodge the guest are enjoying a few canapés

I couldn't partake as there were three little piggy’s fresh from the over that were left over from lunch and I’d eaten the other half dozen…and had become a little piggy myself...

Back to the dock and our new guests who brought in some Halibut; Charles, Guide JP and Dave with a couple of beauties…

Doug had a nice 50 lber…

The salmon fishing was a little tough so it seemed the ground and pound program was the one to be on this afternoon.
Just a couple more shots…the following is self explanatory…

Enough said.
From Masset it’s into the chopper as the excitement builds for the arrival at the OP…

Where you’ll find me waiting to make sure you don’t hit your head …

I’ll be standing RIGHT THERE...

See you then,

Ken Beatty
