“An outstanding fight, it lasted 25 minutes and the fish jumped three times fifty yards from the boat. The biggest fish I have ever caught” is what Mike Clatworthy exclaimed. And what a beauty it was. Coached by guide “Stormin” Norman Hann, Mike caught his 41 lb Chinook at Selveson Point in 75 feet of water on a cut plug. It was indeed a special weekend for the Multistack Exclusive group of guests. The weather was perfect, calm seas prevailed and there was an abundance of Salmon and Halibut!
These 12 guests caught 32 Chinook (15 – 41 lbs), 34 Coho (8 – 15 lbs) and 25 Halibiut (20 – 165 lbs). A new season high for Coho was established when Chris Dicianna caught his 15 lb silver bullet. The largest Hali went to Mike Hecker when he harpooned his 165 lb monster. Charlie Kenyon also received a Tyee pin for catching a 31 lb Chinook. “Stormin” Norman coached Charlie when he caught his silver beauty at Selveson Point on a cut plug. “Charlie was awesome on the rod” stated Stormin.
This first time to The Outpost Lodge group of guests were in awe of the great fishing and spectacular scenery. “There is certainly nothing that can compare to this back east” is what Pittsburg’s Joe Tranchini said. Thanks Joe ….and thank you Multistack for another great trip and your appreciation of this pristine environment and our service staff…see you all next season…have a great year!
