The Outpost Report: August 1, 2008

August 1, 2008

Welcome to the month of August at The Outpost Lodge. And what a great way to start the month as The Distefano Exclusive group of guests brought sunshine, good fishing and calm seas with them….thank you gentlemen!

John Harder brought home the first Tyee of the month when he caught a 30 lb Chinook on the first day of the trip. Coached by Chris (Catfish) Billingsley, John caught his Tyee at 3 Rocks in 99 feet of water using a superior spoon. This group of guests caught 60 fish on the first day of the trip.

Ugo Musa hauled in the largest Hali -109 lbs and the largest Chinook - 32 lbs. Sean Carrigan set a new season high for Coho when he caught his 13 lb beauty. The Coho are now starting to appear in large numbers ranging from 8 – 13 lbs. Other notable Chinook caught on this trip were Tim Brown’s – 27 lb, Rick Distefano’s – 27 lb, Tony Laratta’s – 25 lb and Mike Cole’s 24 lb. A great start to the month gentlemen….have a wonderful summer!
