The Clubhouse - June 24 TYEE TYEE.... Everywhere!

Seven tyees today here at the Clubhouse, the boys are on them! Theweather is over the top, hotter than hot, seas flatter than flat, aguides dream today. Spring salmon stacked in our favourite haunts, tyeeswhere they are supposed to be, this was an amazing day in here.The chinooks are favouring Graham Island now, shallow water fishing, 30to 50 feet along the shoals and reefs, near the kelp and rock piles,classic tyee fishing. we had boats in Bruin Bay, Boulder and the Jalunand they all reported good fishing. Our new 27 had two tyees for the St.Denis group, now three on the trip. Marc Schoenrank had a 32, ToddStanberry grabbed a 30 in boat 11 off the slide. Trey Whichard angled a30.5, while Jeffery Balliet took a 30.5.I fished again with Mike Throne and his son John. We spent our ten hoursin Boulder and Gunia, grabbing two fish at 30, and a dozen 17 to 20 lbs.We found them at 40 feet, fishing cutplugs, mooching and trolling at aslow clip working the shallows. The fish seemed to come on the bite at 9am to about 12 pm, and come on in the early afternoon to about 430. Along bite.Heaps of herring in there, more the a dozen schools 2 to 5 tons, workingthe 50 foot contour, super exciting for sure, today felt very fishy. Theweather was crazy hot, must have been 30 c, kill me, to hot for theHellys, never mind the fleece. Pat even striped down to his kakis, butdid retain his wool socks, I have no idea how he wore those. Me thinksbat wings were the order of the day!We all figure tomorrow is going to be on, with the herring, oursuperstar guests in here, some 20 year vets, that all fish big fish, thelikes of Gary Hayden, Peter Dickson, Larry Fleming, Bruce 'moon' keltie,we should rack and stack tomorrow.
