For those of you basking in summer weather (in some other part of the world) this is what summer looks like in Haida Gwaii...
...Helly Hansen suits, hats and gloves if you have them. Ol' Yeller and a couple of bundled guests charge home from the fishing grounds.
"Benny Big Pants" plus two storm through the gap...
Fishing remains as difficult as the conditions, 11 chinook brought in today, fish are still out there but with winds reaching 30 knotts its not so easy.
Marky-mark found a couple...
And some brave souls pounded the bottom for halis...
...and found them up to 42 lbs.
The story of the day would have to be the events around the dinner table tonight...
John and Mike (from Boeing) get up to present a few awards. First up, the largest halibut for Peter...
Followed by largest Chinook, shared by Rodney (pictured here) and John...
Then for desert...
Natasha and Jordan add the meringue to a home made gelato, Neapolitan, baked "near" Alaska. Marky Mark looking on in hopes of a bowl to lick.
Time to set a-flame...
...and then dished out to an applauding crowd...
Our chefs received a standing ovation tonight...well deserved!
Just another day..."near Alaska"
