Outpost Update ~ June 15th "Hog Town"

June 16, 2012

Internet was down with heavy rain and cloud last night, so I wasn't able to fill you in on day one but we're briefly back up and running. The weather is still "crappy", normal perhaps for our location on the coast but thats not the news of the day...

Opening day yesterday had most boats fishing the bay and newby guide Chris "Ol' Yeller" Dale leads Troy into a 47 pound Chinook...

It caused quite a stir with the group and it was a magnificent fish. After some debate the fish was retained and is the biggest for both guide and angler. That night "Ol yeller" ate the raw heart for the pleasure of the crowd during the after dinner speeches as is the custom here at the OP when you bonk a monster.

Here's Troy with his 47 pound beast...

What a way to start the season.

But thats not the news of the day either...

Another giant...a 45 pound Tyee was just released about an hour ago in the bay within eye sight of the lodge...and the days only half over!

Its hog town down here...stay tuned for details tonight.
