Outpost Update ~ July 24 Reach for the sky

July 25, 2011

The sky is the limit here at the OP...

Ryan, guide Marky-Mark and Neil celebrate a fun day on the water, nothing record breaking except their broken hearts for "the one that got away". They hooked into a monster down at Hippa that took all their line and sunk deep into the kelp to break off unseen. When asked is it better "to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" they didn't give me an answer...so I think they're still heart broken.

You know who isn't heart broken is "L'il Rob" who bagged the biggest fish this weekend...

A monster, guide Dan taped it out... close to 40...

...and it was 40 lbs on the nose, they considered realeasing it but it was L'ill Rob's first Tyee so here he is again...I like to call this photo "Shrek and Puss'n boots"...

What a great morning on the water, Shrek (aka Rob as well) landed a couple of beauties, a matching pair of 26lbers...

What a fantastic day...with guide "Anchorman Dan" who is on a roll after winning last nights KRUD game...

It appears the Clubhouse is taking over the OP with veteran Dan either getting lucky or hitting his stride with biggest fish and the "green jacket" passed on from last trips winner Kenny B.

Well done Dan...

... a little Zoolanderish...don't get too comfortable in that blazer.

It was another great day here at the OP, the hali program slowed a bit but some nice fish to the dock, chinook fishing remains strong and coho fishing is beyond good with guides getting their lines down as quickly as possible to avoid the raving hoards of coho. Ben pulls his tote to the scale full from another great afternoon...

Justine shares a smile and moment with "fishing with Ben-efits" (aka Big fish Ben, bed time Ben, Benny big cakes...to name a few)...

Justine will be acting GM starting tomorrow Monday July 25th and will be taking great care of our incoming guests...that means you Clay!

Tonight for dinner Rebecca posted a special desert that was later vandalized...

True enough I suppose. Here it is lit on fire...

and then served up by the Sugar Mama herself...

...and thus concludes another day in paradise "near Alaska".

I leave tomorrow for a week off with family in Ontario and Justine will be posting reports in my absence.

Enjoy the incredible season we're having and see you in August.
