That’s a Wrap
We come to it at last, the final report from a fish filled and exciting season at The OP. The final trips were full of that fabled August fishing that we have come to know so well. The last 2 trips of the season provide the best average size springs of the season, with beautiful late season 22-27lb averages.
The last week also provided its share of tyees with Connor Sheridan bringing in a 32lb chinook in the last days
Just the next day Chuck McGavern put a 34 on the dock on the first day of the last trip.
Guy Rene celebrated his father / son trip with his first ever Tyee, on his first ever, Salmon fishing trip.
Rollin Reber scored a 33, and Peter Colbeck a 30lber on the last day of the season.
The last days of August at the Outpost were likely the most productive of the season for fish size and quality.
With that we say goodbye for another year. Pictures sometimes fail to capture the essence of all these moments, but we endeavour to try to bring a little glimpse of life here with every snap of the shutter.
While we are all done our time here this year, it’s always good to take a look back at all the people, and all the scenes that made the summer here what it was. Special shout out to Debbie Beemer for putting up with all our…stuff
Let’s not forget the venerable Yeti LoadOut, for which we found multiple uses
Dougie Doug Doug for all the emergency relief. P.S he’s not actually eating the chopper
And all the OP crew for their hard work, dedication to customer service and general great attitude in face of sometimes challenging environments.
Hopefully everybody can always look back at the experiences lived in Port Louis with fondness, and keep the pictures in their minds.
Until next time, keep the tips up, the tension on and the excitement high.
