This week at The OP, we welcome back one of our favorite return groups, the Stans. Bob and Kathryn always bring the crew in for a fun filled 4 days and this season didn’t disappoint.
Right off the bat, Bob set the benchmark with a nice 30lb Tyee on the second day.
Not to be out done, Bob’s brother Captain Ron had to grab his own 30lb Tyee to tie for the derby cup lead. On the third annual Spruce Bluff Tyee Cup leader board the brothers were running neck and neck.
Not that the rest of the group was slacking off, here Richard and Melvyn with a couple nice high twenties to help round out the field.
Francis and last year's winner Curtis Morgan with their best dragon impression. Where do you find all those Ling Cod Frank?
Along the way we helped Kathryn celebrate her 35th Birthday! Way to go Kath!
And in the end, she ended up presenting the brother with the shared trophy…which they proceeded to start a tug-o-war with. Graceful gentlemen.
Meanwhile, with the staff going a bit stir crazy, off they went to Brock to find a cliff to jump off.
And our very own lady by the dock got out to slay some dragons . This little import from CMH this winter has shown the boys what’s up in almost every respect. She is quite the lady.
Meanwhile Chef Paul cleaning up on the KRUD table. Just to be clear I was made to play with an eye patch while reading the clipboard and keeping score…and I got screwed. I think some people are a little sick of my dominating KRUD play this year. Sounds like poor sports…unlike me.
Steph and Paul have been absolutely killing it with the food again this year. Best comments we have ever had.
Next trip brought on the hogs with Tim And Mitchell Johnson landing 4 Tyees! Here Mitch with super guide Sean with his 36lber. They release a 32 and this 36 on the first day, only to bag 2 more the second!
Carl shows Stuart from Nebraska what we do on the west coast. Here’s Stuart with a 32lb beauty. Dave and Stuart Anderson both came to me and said they had the time of their lives on this trip. We expect to see them again real soon.
Meanwhile Frank’s back at the dock to retrieve that Coho that went missing. Seem familiar Old Yeller?
Allan Fitzpatrick holding up twin 29lb Tryees. Hell of a tub that day. We saw 4 Tyees and two damn nears in one afternoon.
Guest guide JP back for another stint at The OP. Here’s JP holding up…what’s that Jappy? Are you holding up a guests fish? Tsk Tsk
Gordon and Cathy Lanctot with Gordon’s first Tyee. 30 on the button. This nice couple is actually from my neck of the wood back in the West Kootenays. See you in the fall.
Well I’m signing off from Port Louis again. And don’t forget to keep you hands off the reels when the tip dives! That’s what the drag is for!!Jordan KnightGeneral Manager, The Outpost
