OP Report: HAPPY CANADA DAY! ~ July 1, 2015

July 1, 2015

Canada day was upon us again, and this year the weather provided some breath taking views and hectic fishing action. The commercial fleet has arrived again, and with that we fill our tanks and take some trips south. The local action In Danger Bay has continued to impress us with it’s consistent fishing, while the forays to the south have been as always…productive.

Mike Wilson with one corked over and loving it.Welcome back Greg Hall of Fedex. Greg comes every year and we always look forward to his fishing stories. He continually invites the guys to come fishing with him in Florida, and this time I might take Carl and take him up on his offer.

Here’s Greg with a beauty 26lber he saved from the sea lions. Check out those scars.

Once again Canada day was at our doorstep. We welcomed back to the OP after a 2 season hiatus Christopher W. Dale Esquire. We also welcomed back OP all star manager Kenneth Ross Beatty, and his bandwidth hungry father David.Chris, along with his father decided to give the OP a little visit and the weather couldn’t have been more pleasant.

July at Port Louis started out all about Halibut. Here’s Chris and Carl from team Ontario showing off a a 63 and 58 pounder.

Jada and Blake Snider had to get into the act. This lovely couple from New Mexico along with guide Myles had Hali on the brain.

They couldn’t help but get into a couple double headers after all that reeling.

All in all, the saying around here goes. When you hear someone say “nice fish,” we have to say, “hey man…they're all nice fish.”The truth of it is, they are all nice fish. We are totally blessed to have these grounds, and to be able to offer out guests this type of experience.

So once again, I sign off from Port Louis. As the OP prepares for the rest of July, we wonder where, and with who the next round of memories will be made. Until we see you next.Jordan KnightGeneral Manager, The Outpost
