The Boys of Summer
Time again and here we are with another update from the crew at The West Coast Fishing Club’s OP lodge.
Since we left you last time, there has been a flurry of Salmon action to speak of. Diving right in with our crew of moustachioed males we invited back a couple old friends.
When we left you, we were welcoming back the Kelowna Hyundai group for another week of action packed fishing.
Here we have Brandon Kot with guide Sean out at 3 rocks getting into the bite.
Brandon, Chad and guide Sean enjoying the day at 3 rocks
Meanwhile Damian DeCiantis getting into them 50ft away
In the evening back at the lodge, Derek and Colin were cooking up a storm
Bradan was finally able to wrestle the coveted KRUD jacket out of my hands and back to the guiding team.
I think he means business
While Little Big Boy (Jonah) was out getting his hands tended to, I myself spent some time with long time returnee Mike Dusterhoff & Stephen Swenson. Mike, I believe has been coming for over 15 years and this trip was no disappointment, with Mike netting an impressive 38 lber on the second day. It’s the fish of the season so far
Mean while I got up close and personal with Mr. Swenson
Return guest Ron Warner having a nice time at the bite at Lunch Spot
Word was the other day Sean’s guest had a monster on the pole. Confirmed by Jonah that a hog was on, I headed to try to get a pic only to hear the big boy spat the hooks right by the boat. Always a challenge to land those big ones, but it’s encouraging to hear that they are swimming not 5 minutes from our front door.
Next up we welcomed back BOEING for a weekend of Tyee hunting adventure.
This trip produced 4 Tyees in 2 days.
Here’s Marty with a nice mid 20’s
Varu Raja or Raj Mahal as he was known for the trip with his trip topping 34 lber
Rounding out the field we had Allan Smolinski, Gardiner Porter and Jim Sturgis with a 30lber each. The big fish were biting well on the high slack, and the boys were out with a vengeance getting after them.
Back at the ranch Derek and the Inside team were treating them to another 5-star dinner
Brad McMullen & Marty Olson showing off their ground game
As we said goodbye to BOEING, we welcomed back former manager Ken Beatty and Father David. Trip started well with Todd Hitting this 31lber on the first afternoon in the bay.
Is it just me, or does Bradan seem to be in a lot of these photos
I will let you know how the week went in my next report.
Until the boys in the bright white sports car return
