The Tues fishery was “on fire” for the first couple of hours up but slowed quickly as the Orcas moved in late morning. Fish were averaging high teens with Tyees 32, 33 and 36lbs thrown in.
Having already played and landing several salmon, Wednesday afternoon most guests hit the Hali grounds. Conditions were perfect but the hali’s seemed a little tough to find. A few chickens were earned and patience paid off for Alan Weichman who scored a 128lber. The radio chatter this morning was positive with Chinook settling down after the Orca shakedown. Weather here continues to remain stable and this morning’s fishing was once again solid with Ray Taylor managing a 37lb on his solo last morning’s fish.
On another positive note, the coho are here in excellent numbers with guests boating at least a few, certainly a bonus for this time of year.
Have to go for now…Helicopter touching down soon. We’ll keep you posted
