North Island Lodge Fishing Reports
North Island Lodge Report: June 13, 2008

Day one of the June 13th-16th trip seemed to kick off alright for John Fuller, travelling all the way from the U.K. to land a 32lb spring. A few other fish in the twenties also arrived at our scale that afternoon. The remainder of the trip, the baits had to be spinning tight, spoons polished and your timing had to be right as most worked hard for their fish. Chris and David Evans had everyone wondering where they found a patch of fish that filled their tote on a slow afternoon.
The weather has been inconsistent, causing heavy chop in our usual offshore haunts and giving the bigger halibut a rest. Chicken halibut are still numerous out off the east side with most guests giving halibut a try during periods of slow salmon fishing. It is sure nice to have options as we wait for another big push of salmon to arrive here at Langara.
