NIL Report: "The Hogs Keep Rolling In!" - August 19, 2019

Well the second week in August sure has lived up to our hopes and dreams of last weeks report - the hogs keep rolling in! With five tyees caught in the last week along with another handful of high twenty pounders our guests have been chomping at the bit to keep lines in the water. Once again the Graham Island shoreline was on fire this week and was where most of the angling took place.

Alex Walters with a very nice take-home 22lb'er.Our weekend trip started off with a bang with John Smart angling a whopping 37lb in the first afternoon. This opened up the weekend nicely where we saw another tyee caught by Vince Agostino weighing in at 30lbs. Following those two were a handful of high twenty’s with Dino Serena (27lbs), Joseph Grijalva (25lbs), Corey Oswald (25lbs), and Jeffery Schmittlutz (26lbs). Short but sweet was how we described the weekender as we looked toward our four-day trip.

Vince Agostino with a 30lb tyee caught with the help of guide Macgregor Johnston.We had a blast this week when we hosted our guests who almost all traveled from Quebec to angle with us. This group included many returning faces as well as some first timers which made for some exciting action on the water! Starting off with the biggest and the best story of the trip - guest Liette Laurin, a first-time guest, caught and released a 37lber off of Seith Point! An incredible feat for any guest, let alone a first timer. The next biggest catch and release of the trip was from returner Jean-Louis Baudouin with a 33lb chinook near Guinea Point. Jean-Louis and his wife Christiane Dubreuil also caught 27lb and 29lb chinooks respectively on this trip - Christiane’s biggest to date by her word! Julia Salico also cracked our tyee roster for this week with a 30lb chinook, just making the mark. We also need to tap our caps to Marc Dansereau with a 26lb chinook and Pierre-Philippe Durenleau also with a 26lb chinook, solid catches as well.
