NIL Report: Leading The Pack ~ June 10, 2015

It always feels great to get the first trip of the season underway and to see all of the hard work that is done over the off season come together and witness our staff, new and old, bond with one another at North Island Lodge.
The opening trip of the season was the first Annul Ultimate Grill Showdown, that was a great success and thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. The bite was on from day one as everyone was getting into great numbers of Chinooks, lots of double headers, and some nice Hali’s for those that put in the time. The guests loved coming back to the lodge with the delicious aromas from the smoker and barbeque pouring out into Parry Pass and welcoming everyone back to the dock for some grub.
Here we have Ken Gardiner and Ian McRae with the first Tyee of the season that Ken caught on a self-guided mission at Gunia.
I am pleased to report that North Island Lodge is currently leading the pack for all West Coast Fishing Club lodges thanks to the first 40+ pound Tyee of the season with a beauty 42 pound Chinook caught by guest Nathan Merkel and guided by Patrick “Cat Gravy” Davies. Way to go boys:
I’ve got a good feeling about the coming weeks so be sure to check in regularly for updates.
