OP Report: Keep on keeping on! ~ June 16, 2015

June 17, 2015

Another trip down, another 4 days of incredible fishing out of Port Louis. I have to say the sheer amount of enthusiasm expressed by this last group was just amazing. We had a nice run of big Chinook out at three rocks and the guides were putting the guests on them all day.

Here’s one of my favourite all time guests Johnny Dossey with his son Tanner showing off a couple good eaters. Johnny has become famous at The Outpost for his Archibalas Halbrook joke. If you ever meet up on a trip with Johnny, gather all the people within shouting distance and ask for a very practised lovely southern rendition of his famous joke. You won’t soon forget it!

Our other father and son team on the trip, Carl and Clarke were out to get things started early. Here’s Clarke with his first fish of the trip. A nice little 29lb tryee! Way to go bud. That’s setting the bar high for dad. After getting in on the larger groups derby, Clarke and Carl ended up in second place with total fish weight.

Big Fish Benny Big Pants providing a little protein for the Dossey Clan. Tanner’s currently in University in New Mexico, so he needs all the meals dad can provide.

Even the boss got out for a little fishing session and picked up this little 30+ on the first pass. Thanks go out to my guide Hanes. First fish of the season.

And of course, the release. We are dedicated to conservation at The West Coast Fishing Club, and every healthy fish we put back is an investment in our future. Awesome fish to fight, even better to watch it swim away.Well once again, some great stories and some great people at The OP. We hope to see you one day soon, and share some new stories with you. Until then, keep on keeping on.Jordan KnightGeneral Manager, The Outpost
