The Clubhouse Report June 23 ~ "A pair of 40's and 9 tyees!"

They were here on Thursday in big numbers, but the tyees have tales and off they went, now awaiting the next run. Highlights of the trip June 19 to June 22 were a pair of 40's, and nine tyees overall.The largest fish of the trip was guided by Hans , a 47lb specimen, angled by Rob Pollock, and released, so good for Rob. Rob and Hans hit the dock at 4 pm to drop off a sick partner, then ran out to Andrews. On the Haida drift they grabbed this tyee, so good for them. The same afternoon Greg Gibson, fishing with Taylor Logan, snatched a 44 lber out at Lacy, this fish also released. Always nice to see the right thing done here and put these special fish back! We have not retained a fish over 40 so far this season, well done boys!Matthew Clayton snuck a 38 into the lodge, I believe this fish from Andrews. Ian Morris grabbed a pair of tyee at 32 and 36 lbs. Tim Sorensen, the only other out of the closet Leafs fan up here these days grabbed a 32, well done Tim. Known for later starts and quick exits from the fishing grounds, Tim proves timing is everything in fishing, not hours spent drifting around when the bite is off!The fish have moved on and the last 48 hours are dry in here. We have six Chinook on the board tonight. Guides must stay away from sharp objects. The good news? The feed is around, herring balls everywhere on the east side, and some out west too. Connelly sat on a big ball all afternoon with only a couple chances. I was jigging away as per usual, stocking up for the next wave. It is dry, no B.S. here, when the fish vamoose we all start searching, EVERYWHERE!
