The Outpost is a land based resort that was built to be "the Outpost" to The Clubhouse and to offer guests access to a location that would not otherwise be accessible. The lodge is perfectly situated on the reaches of the west coast of Haida Gwaii and provides an experience like no other fishing lodge.
The Outpost was built to give anglers access to a fishery that provides vast numbers of salmon and monster halibut within 15 minutes of the dock. There are many other ways to spend your trip as you explore the coastal rainforest surroundings.

North Island Lodge Overview
The North Island Lodge is Langara Island's floating palace. Located just off the northern tip of Canada's Haida Gwaii islands, North Island Lodge is perfectly situated to deliver the world's best fishing experience.
The secret is our location; moored directly over the fishing grounds, staying on our floating lodge allows you to have lines in the water, just 10 minutes from leaving the dock! Situated on the edge of the Continental Shelf on Canada's northwestern tip, Langara Island fishing is beyond compare. This particular area of Langara Island is a feeding ground for millions of salmon and halibut, that gather each year to feast on the schools of herring and other bait fish which come here to spawn each spring.

These areas are safely accessible in our Boston Whalers, which are ideally suited to the challenge. And while others fishing further south, on either coast of Haida Gwaii, have to contend with long boat rides, wind and weather, our home at Langara Island means West Coast guests are only minutes from fishing, whatever the weather.

The added beam makes a world of difference on the water creating a larger fishing platform. 27 ft. Offshore Predator - Guided FishingFishes 2-3 guestsThe 27 ft. offshore is the final model boat in our Guided Off-Shore fleet. These boats were added to the fleet in 2001 and are the only boats with a forward enclosed cabin. This boat is ideal for those wishing to fish in comfort. The cabin on this boat reduces the deck space slightly and makes it an ideal vessel for 2 to 3 guests.

Our self-guided fleet is most definitely the best on the coast. These boats were recently added to the fleet in 2006 with the goal of offering our guests what they expect in a boat while fishing.
