About The West Coast Fishing Club

The West Coast Fishing Club was created with the notion of offering guests the most exclusive fishing adventures on the Coast. Business partners Brian Legge and Richard Grange developed the West Coast Fishing Club philosophy, over thirty years ago. Being avid fisherman and owners of a security company based in Toronto, Canada, they started inviting their friends and clients alike on corporate fishing adventures in British Columbia. Years of fishing experience on the coast told them that there was no better fishing than northern Haida Gwaii, a two-hour flight to the north of Vancouver. Not wanting to fish at locations that offered small uncomfortable boats and truly "roughing it" at a fishing lodge, the West Coast Fishing Club was born.

Within two years, Boston Whalers were situated at two prominent lodges on the West Coast, providing Brian and Rick's valued guests with a touch of class, far exceeding what any other fishing resort company offered. As the Club developed, the next conceivable step was to build a lodge that would meet the same high expectations.

In 1991, The Clubhouse was built at Langara Island, high upon the bluff overlooking the Inlet. Its immediate success fuelled the desire to build in other locations in order to offer other unique fishing experiences in Haida Gwaii. In 2001, Rick's son Brian Grange joined the growing head office team to continue to build the West Coast Fishing Club legacy and ensure a premier experience for all guests.

Now twenty years later, the West Coast Fishing Club offers four unique fishing properties, spanning north and south hemispheres. Our continued commitment is to offer the most exclusive fishing experience in the Americas.

A visit to one of our British Columbia or Panama fishing resorts is not just a fishing trip; it's a fishing experience. The reasons for this are simple - our fishing, location, service, staff, and accommodations are all world-class. Not only will you be fishing some of the most abundant runs of fish on the coast but also you'll have the best boats and equipment and be in the company of the most experienced and knowledgeable guides on the coast.

For both Canada and Panama locations, our location is key: almost all major runs of salmon from the Skeena, Fraser and Columbia River systems on the west coast of Vancouver Island, must pass by Langara Island during their migration and consequently pass into the fishing grounds of The Clubhouse, North Island Lodge and the Outpost; West Coast Fishing Club Panama boast immediate access to the deep waters of the Pacific, home to Marlin, Sailfish and Tuna. This is why nothing compares to the fishing with the West Coast Fishing Club. During your days on the water and back at the comfortable lodges, you will find yourself surrounded by breath-taking natural beauty, in first class accommodations, and experiencing food and service that is second to none.
