Panama first morning at sea
April 19, 2011Panama Update: Our first night at sea was without incident. We were on deck at 0700 to find clear blue skies and calm seas…
We are in beautiful clear blue water out here and had our first visitors already, thanks to Pierre for these great shots off the bow…
They’ve been with us off and on all morning
I’ve also seen my first flying fish of the trip, disturbed by the boat it sailed over the water for a good 100+ meters before dipping back into the ocean…no photos of that one.
Here’s a couple of shots (from yesterday) of some of the hands on deck…
Thats me, Tobey, Lindsay and Michael. Below is the super keen fisherman/engineer Frank…
As for progress, at 11:30 am we were at the below GPS location (27 46’1″ North 80 06’1″ west) on google maps (just click the link) and are currently 10+ miles offshore as we pass by Fort Pierce FL…no land in sight but a few sport fishing boats appear every once in a while. We’re trying to stay close to shore and avoid the northern flowing gulf stream.
Stay tuned for updates daily,
