Panama: A-LureAugust 11, 2011
Our father and son duo went out for their last day of their personal tournament…
Things were neck and neck when Laurent caught this rooster…look at how he cradles it like a baby!
And then a sailfish for Laurent…
They have both performed well, and near the end of the fishing day today stand with equal counts in the following categories:
Neck and neck!
But as Gilbert says, IN THE END…IT ALL COMES DOWN TO ONE MACKEREL.
Gilbert’s tournament closing mackerel at the top will be transformed into…
…Hot Smoked Mackerel with Warm Carrot and Potato Salad…
Laurent, you’ll have to bring your dad back soon to take the crown!
Below is a shot of some of our BRAND NEW LURES! Custom designed by none other than our own Captain Chris Thompson and his partner Tom “Brocky” Ellsworth, we are very excited to be some of the first to use these.
Chris and Tom together have years and years of big game fishing – all those years of using different lures have distilled down into the qualities they know work best, and they have put all those ideas together to create this collection.
Developed over the last 1.5 years starting with 4 prototypes, these are now the final product. A total of 17 different lures, ranging from tuna feather to marlin jigs (to be used for dorados, sailfish, tuna, marlin…).
Captain Chris says that the main differences in the design, colors, and head style will produce different action in the water. These will also be offered for sale at 40% less than similar lures of equal quality. “We want to make them accessible for everyone!”
With only 30 out in the world being fished from Australia to Panama, we are happy to add them to our fishing gear here at WCFC Panama.
“They look fantastic in the water!” says Chris. After only a few uses, they have already caught sailfish, big tuna, dorado.
Goodnight from Paradise,
