The Outpost Overview
The Outpost is a land based resort that was built to be "the Outpost" to The Clubhouse and to offer guests access to a location that would not otherwise be accessible. The lodge is perfectly situated on the reaches of the west coast of Haida Gwaii and provides an experience like no other fishing lodge.

The Outpost was built to give anglers access to a fishery that provides vast numbers of salmon and monster halibut within 15 minutes of the dock. There are many other ways to spend your trip as you explore the coastal rainforest surroundings.

The North Island Lodge is Langara Island's floating palace. Located just off the northern tip of Canada's Haida Gwaii islands, North Island Lodge is perfectly situated to deliver the world's best fishing experience.

The secret is our location; moored directly over the fishing grounds, staying on our floating lodge allows you to have lines in the water, just 10 minutes from leaving the dock! Situated on the edge of the Continental Shelf on Canada's northwestern tip, Langara Island fishing is beyond compare. This particular area of Langara Island is a feeding ground for millions of salmon and halibut, that gather each year to feast on the schools of herring and other bait fish which come here to spawn each spring.

The Las Perlas Islands is an archipelago in the Gulf of Panama that has long been a sought after destination for world class fishing. Moored in the most southern point of the islands, off the rugged shores of Isla Del Rey, our luxurious floating hotel at Punta Coco offers the ultimate jumping off point for world class Billfishing. About Your Trip - North Island Lodge, Langara Island

The West Coast Fishing Club is pleased to provide all-inclusive trip packages to our north coast destinations.

Our staff is happy to assist you in any travel arrangements you may require as well as making your hotel reservation in Vancouver for the night prior to your departure with us. We are partnered with three local hotels who will ensure an excellent stay before you make your way to the fishing adventure of a lifetime.

Once you arrive at our WCFC desk in the South Terminal airport, our guest services representatives will check your baggage, provide you with airplane and helicopter passes, assist you in filling out your fishing license and then, you will be on your way.

Shortly after checking in, you will board the flight for the 1 hour and 45 minute flight to Masset. Upon landing in Masset, you will have a brief helicopter orientation and then be shuttled in small groups by helicopter to the lodge. Once you land at the lodge, you will be ushered inside for a gourmet brunch, a brief orientation by the lodge manager and then be on your way to the water!

You may visit our candy counter to fill your cooler with cold drinks, snacks and homemade treats and then visit our dry room to suit up with your Helly Hansen suit and rubber boots. From here you have only a quick stroll down the ramp where your guide and boat await you. With the fishing grounds only 10 minutes away, you are only moments from dropping your line and fighting that Tyee!

Trip Date Options

Our all-inclusive North Island Lodge packages are available as a 4 day/3 night or a 5 day/4 night duration. Our set changeover days are Friday and Monday.

What To Expect:

Arrival Day: Please be sure to arrive into Vancouver the night before your trip with us. We are happy to assist you with these arrangements should you require. Please be sure to speak to your hotel to ensure a shuttle will be bringing you to the South Terminal for 7:15am the morning of your departure or allow us to assist in making other transportation arrangements.
Day One: Please be at the South Terminal for check in at 7:15am. After an 8 am departure you will arrive in Masset for 10:00 am where you will have a brief helicopter orientation and then depart for the lodge. Upon your arrival you will have brunch, change into your fishing gear and be directed to your awaiting boat. After a quick 10 minute commute to the fishing grounds, you will drop your lines and you are off!
Typical Day: Begin your day with a gourmet breakfast starting at 5:30am. As soon as it is light you will head down to your boat to fish until 11:30am. Between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm lunch is served in the dining room. All guests are in from fishing at 7:30 pm to enjoy pre-dinner drinks and hors d'oeuvres until 8PM when dinner service will commence.
Departure Day: On the last day our guests are able to fish from first light until 8:30 am when brunch will be served in the dining room. Our helicopters will begin to depart with guests at 10:30am for Masset. Our charter will leave Masset at 12PM to have our guests back into Vancouver between 2:00PM and 2:30PM.
