Outpost July 9th...finally

Outpost Update: Paxton is 100% certain he can get this thing to turn over so last night he was all over the old backhoe...

after 15 years of sitting in one place I'd wager that its not going anywhere...either way it was a lovely evening...

and things were looking very promising for the next day...which arrived and WOW...it was picture perfect...

The boats headed out all day and had superb fishing: lots, big, sun and calm, lets look at some of the photos...

Shane, John "the hammer" and guide Adam show off one of many...

Curtis and Jason hold onto a couple of beauties

Marky-Mark and Grant pose in the sunlight

It was hot, sunny and flat out there today, the boys ran from Freeman rock to Tien, getting salmon at will until that got boring or they limited out. I heard stories of guests taking a break, pulling their gear so they could enjoy a beer...Sonny as a triathlete decided to do both at once...

There were complaints about being too sore after playing so many fish and everyone looked BEAT by the time they hit the dock. The insanity continues out there...

Lovely vistas and after everyone limited on chinook they switched to halis...

Jeff and Big Cakes battle something deep below.

John works hard on one of our new Avet hali reels.

Jason JP and Curtis show off a perfect day on the water...carbon copy for everyone else...

I'm very happy to report 3 halis over 100 lbs were released today and a few chinooks danced around that Tyee mark...one crested the mark at 31 lbs.

FINALLY for me after half a dozen attempts in 2 years I got my first Chinook off my paddle board...

22 lbs and kind of tricky to land, it was a picture perfect day...

...not sure how many chinooks have been hooked played and landed from a SUP on the west side of Graham Island...I say there's a good chance this is the first.

nice job Kenny B, I'd have trouble just staying on that wobbly board let alone land a salmon from it. I think you should go after a salmon shark from that thing next. Are the boys still fishing for squid in the dark out there, if so i will bring them some squid lures in a week.
